Avoiding Auto Warranty Scams

Published by wordophile at 10:45 am under Uncategorized Edit This

Ever get those extremely annoying phone calls that begin with a mechanical voice belching out, “Dear car-owner, your car warranty is about to expire?”  Well, thanks to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), that will come to an end. In May, U.S. District Judge John F. Grady of Illinois, issued restraining orders against Voice Touch, Inc., Network Foundations, LLC, and Transcontinental Warranty. These calls, or “robocalls,” were more than simply annoying, they were often scams. These companies targeted consumers and sold them expensive policies only to go out of business a short time later. The lesson to be learned? Always buy your auto warranty directly from the dealer.
